The on going success of Spolia’s first collaboration with Carl Auböck and his renown Viennese workshop soon led to new plans. The weathered material, antique, roughly edged slate tiles sourced from Brittany in Northern France takes centre stage in our open edition.

Shaped by Atlantic climate of Brittany for more than 100 years, the slate tiles used for this edition are carefully selected and elegantly combined with the workshop’s signature material brass. Casted and patinated at the workshop by hand, the brass bell crowns the roughly edged shades. The massive hinges on the inside are made from brushed brass and cause a reflection in a verdurous gold tone that stand in a most elegant contrast to the surrounding stone.
